Powdered Beauty

I have always wanted to do a shoot with colored powder, but I always thought it should have more of a concept than just throwing it straight-on to someone's face. We're extremely pleased with the outcome of the shots, what do you think of them?

Lee Jeans Night Skins Collection

Lee Jeans Philippines launched a campaign called Free Your Night Side this season and as part of the campaign, student artists from different universities including AdMU, DLS-CSB, UST, FEU, UP, MAPUA and USC-Cebu, joined in the team, calling ourselves the Lee Style Army 2012.

These shots are stills from a video campaign that our team, Dark Knight, shot for the Night Skins collection which is all about liberation, showing your true self and being who you want to be.

The concept of the shoot is that the Night Skins, when worn, can open a whole new world of possibilities for you to show your true colors, which is exactly what Georgina and Andrew discover!

This is the second of two campaigns that we shot for Lee Jeans. The first is the collection designed by our very own team and you can see them here

The Conclusion of Lee Style Army 2012

These past few weeks, I have been slaving over nothing else but the recently concluded Lee Style Army 2012 competition. But I'm happy to say that now that it's over, all the sleepless nights were well worth it! I'd like to take this opportunity to thank my parents and the rest of my famiLEE for their unwavering support. I'm happy to be able to bring home the prize for best photographer because I can be someone that makes my family proud.

What an experience, what a wonderful opportunity. I'll never forget the people I've met and the learnings I've learned. It somehow feels like it was just a dream but it was one of the sweetest dreams I've ever had.

So grateful for the people I've met in this competition.

And for my team of talented individuals all of whom I'm so proud of. Especially Andrew who also won Best Male Model

I dedicate this achievement to my parents and my groupmates who will always have my back.

Without further ado, here are the winning photos for Lee Style Army 2012

Andrew's Button-down Polo and Blazer designed by Trish Tirol-Padre

And a special big thank you to my partner, Nicole Sunga. You're a winner in my book!

Have You Met Adi Amor?

Adi and I go way back to high school. We met during my junior prom. She was the date of my friend, Mike and she was just so friendly and wacky that we got along really well. We didn't see each other again during high school. I met Adi again in Ateneo and it seems like you never really lose good company. Now she's got a fashionista-blogger-designer-student thing going on. As a good friend, I've volunteered to help document her venture.

Without further ado, here's Adi Amor.

Like what you see? Adi maintains her own blog. Visit it here. Look her up on Lookbook too!

'Til the next post. Cheers! -Matt

Trashy Chic

Hey folks! So some pretty exciting news this week!
You've heard me talk about this before, and now it's finally happening! I will by flying out to the West Coast on June 2! Finally get some real R&R with my family. :o)

Here's our travel itinerary for the trip:
June 2-5 Portland, 5-8 Seattle, 8-13 Alaska, 14 Victoria, 15-16 Seattle
If you guys are in the vicinity, hit me up! You could send me a message via Facebook or email me at im.matt.lee@gmail.com, I'd love to meet-up with you. :o) I officially get home on the 17th and I'm not sure how much internet access I'll be getting there so I'll leave this entry behind, one for the road!

This is a studio session that we had for Imagine Nation's Purpose Driven Photographer. It's a first of mine to work with studio lights but I'll definitely be dabbling in studio more often in the near future especially since my friends have opened up a studio along Katipunan extension. :)

So here are some photos from the series: Trashy Chic
Credits for the amazing (seriously!) dresses go to Carina Rodriguez and her team. These guys made 2 dresses from Newspaper and Garbage Bags in under 4 hours. Great work, guys!

Have You Met Lauren Laudico?

Meet Lauren Laudico. You know she looks familiar. That's because you've seen her before in Mestizas vs Morenas, Lady in the Water and The Early in Modern and you know you loved her from the very start just like I did. In this shoot, we're putting Lauren on center stage and she's just working the socks off it! Each photo comes out better than the last! :o)

Some things you might not know about Lauren: this girl's an aboulute fashionista. She dresses herself during our shoots, and every look blows us away! A model and a stylist. :o)
Speaking of being versatile, don't think that Lauren is just another pretty face. Other adjectives to describe Lauren are Student-Leader, God-fearing, and Environmentalist. This girl has a natural affinity to mountain climbing. Don't mistake her for a maarte (Google says the English translation is pretentious) Atenista. This girl's so fierce she could hike in her 5-inch heels. Most importantly, this girl's got a lot of heart. When not busy with her curriculars, Lauren volunteers to coach kids at summer camp and advocates communications and production to the youth of Payatas with her org, the Ateneo Association of Communication Majors (ACOMM).

It's easy to see why I love this girl! Lauren just makes the world a more beautiful place to live. :o)
Count on seeing more of Lauren in the shoots to come. :o)
