Everyday Unknown: Fine Dining at the Cafeteria

Here's an innovation and creative fine dining project for Ms. Lacson. The task was to create 3 fine dining dishes, plate them and shoot the products in under 3 hours. Always on the search for everyday unknown, we find dishes fit for a 5-star restaurant at the Gonzaga Cafeteria, Ateneo de Manila University. Bon Appetit!

Appetizer
Vietnamese Bacon Spring Roll

Entree
Crispy Bagnet Drizzled with Peanut Sauce

Dessert
Dirty Cookie

Re-History

I don't know if it's true what they say about history repeating itself but we pushed the definition in this project. Re-History tires to capture the spirit of photographs from Philippine history, iconic or anonymous. The concept of recapturing history is really quite interesting. And no matter how close we get to the first photo, we know it'll never be exactly the same. Something to ponder on for the night. :o?

Models: Nicko Caluya (Taruc) and myself (Ninoy);  Rio Tanchuling (Teacher), Ian Hermogenes, Regina Velez, Enzo Mendoza, Jamie Ozamiz, Jess Orense, Nicko Caluya, Sam Buyco (Students); Carl Sy (Japanese), Nikko Bacalzo and Xander Cruz (Victims); Xander Cruz (F. Marcos), Maan Mendoza (Imelda), Carl Sy (Bystander #43)

Special thanks to Maan Mendoza and Mo Maguyon!
This series was completed for Sir Giron's History class.

"Young Ninoy Aquino negotiates with Hukbalahap Leader Luis Taruc."

"Thomasites visit the country to educate the Filipinos."

"One of the many occurrences of beheading during the Japanese occupation."

"President Ferdinand Marcos declares Martial Law. First Lady Imelda Marcos stand behind him."

Impressive or does it still need work? I'd love to hear your comments!
Salut! Matt

Backstage Beauty

Here's a tribute to the people who have served as my family for the past three months. Someone once said theatre is one of the most humble professions in the world. You pour your life, your love into your work not for fame or recognition but to tell a story that needs to be told. Summer Camp, thank you for giving, thank you for loving. This shoot entitled "Backstage Beauty" gives another dimension to how we look at theatre actors. To see how they move around backstage is a wonder. These are behind the scenes photos like nothing else.

Sit back. Relax. And enjoy the show!

Summer Camp The Musical

*kroo kroo*

Hey everyone! If you're still following the site after my 1 month exile then congratulations! You've just discovered that I'm still alive and haven't abandoned this page at all. Not physically anyway! Haha. And the reason for my hiatus is that I've sold my soul...to theatre. That's right, last July I auditioned for a role in our school production... blueREP's Summer Camp The Musical and I'm happy to say that I'm taking a lead role in this production! Summer Camp is a story about doing what you love against all odds and learning to be comfortable in your own skin.

What started out as a Senior Year Bucket List item became an irreplaceable experience. This is an one-of-a-kind screenplay written by the exceptional Lara Antonio and Aldrich Alcantara and directed by the one and only Macky Santiago. You won't find this anywhere else in the country and the cast is absolutely amazing!!

As my friend told me, it was my turn to step into the spotlight. Haha!

For ticket reservations, hit me up @MattLeeShoots or contact (0926) 716 4395 directly.
Tweet about the show afterwards with #SummerCampTheMusical! I wanna hear what you have to say about it! :)

P.S. We're 2 views shy of hitting 6,000. Thank you everyone for making that possible! I wouldn't be doing this if it weren't for all of you! :o)

Cheers, Matt

Have You Met Adi Amor?

Adi and I go way back to high school. We met during my junior prom. She was the date of my friend, Mike and she was just so friendly and wacky that we got along really well. We didn't see each other again during high school. I met Adi again in Ateneo and it seems like you never really lose good company. Now she's got a fashionista-blogger-designer-student thing going on. As a good friend, I've volunteered to help document her venture.

Without further ado, here's Adi Amor.

Like what you see? Adi maintains her own blog. Visit it here. Look her up on Lookbook too!

'Til the next post. Cheers! -Matt
